Happy Holidays

So, I've been busy....it is that time of year, after all...so I'm sorry for not posting earlier...
I've also been distracted by my new love....Memory Box Company Dies....I've "collected" their paper for years, but only recently discovered their dies...and I absolutely LOVE them and their intricacy....
Here is a card that I created using their products (except for the pink cs, and the light blue cs)...the stamp is from La La Land Crafts.....other than that, it's all Memory Box product...
Here's a look at the inside of the card...
What do you think? Pretty cool, huh....
In case I don't get to post before the holidays....here's to wishing you and yours a most joyous of Holiday Seasons....filled with family, friends, and love.
Until next time, I hope you have a RIPArts kind of day!!

It's that time of year....

Yup, winter is upon us, and in Texas it doesn't mean that much of a difference...lol...

But, in keeping with the "spirit" of the season, I have a card that I created for my COPIC class...the stamp is from La-La Land Crafts...and it's called Luka on Sled. The papers are from Bazzill, and Core-dinations. The coloring was done with my COPIC markers. The snowflakes are from a Martha Steward border punch, and the snow is from Flower Soft.

So, as we prepare to spend time going "gung-ho" in the stores for our holiday shopping, let's not forget the simple things in life....the things that bring a smile to our faces, and create fond memories.

Until next time, I hope you and yours have a RIPArts kind of day!!

Previews...

So, I'm in major COPIC mode right now...which is a good thing, since the holidays are right around the corner. To that end, I have some classes scheduled...you can see where and when on the right side of this blog... :)

First up, I have a Skin & Hair class on the 5th...and here's a sample of what we'll be doing in class...we will be utilizing stamps from My Favorite Things.

Then, I have a Skin & Hair class on the 12th...and here's a sample of what we will be doing in that class...we will be utilizing stamps from La-La Land Crafts.

So, I hope you're able to join me at one of the times shown, so that we can get you started and on your way to completing your holiday cards.

Until next time, I hope you have a RIPArts kind of day!!

La La La La La....

La-La Land Stamps that is.....yup, I'm using La-La Land's stamps in my next class....they're pretty cute, and not too difficult to color for those who are just beginning to toy with COPIC markers.

I hope you'll check out these really cute stamps, and give them a try.

Until next time, I hope you have a RIPArts kind of day!!

We're baaaaaaaaack...

Ok, so we're finally back and getting settled again, after what seemed like the quickest vacation ever...lol....

While I was away, I had the opportunity to stop at a scrapbook store that I had visited once before. The name of the store is: Priceless Scrapbooks in Ocala, Florida. Now, that being said, I have to say that they have moved since I visited them last....however, they haven't suffered one bit. The new location is larger, providing even more room for some of the best products out there. They have a large variety of products from the major players, but also some jewels tucked away from overseas.

They carry Bazzill, Graphic 45, Sizzix, Provocraft, Tim Holtz/Ranger, Magnolia stamps, Flower Soft, Bo Bunny, La-La Land Crafts, and many many more.

The staff was delightful to deal with, and very eager to help their customers. The sign of a great store worth visiting. :) In this day and age of tough economic times, it's nice to see businesses that recognize that their customers are their greatest asset, and treat them as such. I'm glad to see that this store is doing well.

Their hours are M-Sat from 10am - 6pm...if you're in the area, or just passing through like us, please make it a point to stop in and check it out. You won't be sorry you did...

Until next time, I hope you have a RIPArts kind of day!!

We have Pirates!!!

Well, sort of......lol....

I met up with my friend Jenn, who's making our Pirate outfits for MNSSHP at WDW, and I was able to pick up my shirt......then, I went over to my friend Melinda's house, and completed my hat, along with Baby Bear's hat, and Mr. Bear finished his hat as well....

Now, we just have to wait on our Pirate coats and pants, and we'll be completely set and ready to go.....

I hope this week finds you in a creative and productive mood...

Until I return from vacation, I hope you have a RIPArts kind of day!!

Too Cute...

or so I like to think....made these CUTE Treat Bags for our upcoming visit to WDW and Mickey's Not So Scary Halloween Party. The adults have a larger bag with the Pumpkin Mickey design on them....these small ones are for the kids....the "little" kids...not the "big" kids....lol....

Totally love the YuDu machine....does have a learning curve, but we think we have it figured out for the most part now....

So, this will probably be my last post before our vacation....May you find your Treat Bag overflowing, and your tummy able to handle it all...lol...

Until next time, I hope you have a RIPArts kind of day!!

Well now.....

It's been a whirlwind several weeks...and we're finally in the home stretch coming up on vacation.

We finished the last of our t-shirt designs...

And I taught my Pinocchio layout class at Personal Scrapbook in Allen. Here's the entire layout...

Now, we have some t-shirts to finish up for Baby Bear, and some shopping bags to print as well, and we're finished preparations for our next Disney trip. Oh, did I mention that we're soooo excited?Last, but not least, our costumes are almost complete. Our friend has been working diligently to get them completed. She assures us that everything will be completed in time, so we're almost there folks.

Now, what does that mean? It means that I'm probably not likely to post much in the next few weeks, as we prepare for, and take our vacation. I do, however, have a couple of classes on the schedule before vacation, so you might want to take a quick look at the calendar of events to the right.

Until next time, I hope you have a RIPArts kind of day!!

Tee Shirts....Get Your Tee Shirts....

Well, as you all know, we have a vacation planned in the next month or so...and wouldn't you know it, I've been cranking out Disney related stuff....big surprise, huh? LOL...

Anyway, we bought a Yudu machine about 10 months ago, and we finally broke it out of its box and began to play with it. It certainly has a learning curve, but definitely not difficult to get the hang of.

Below, are two of the tee shirt designs that I created using my Silhouette software.

Have you purchased any toys that you took your time in "breaking out and playing with"? :) I'd like to think that I'm not the only one...lol

Until next time, I hope you have a RIPArts kind of day!!

Monday, August 8, 2011

Shhhhh.....

Guess what I'm working on?? :)

I hope to post the completed project soon.... Until then, I hope you have a RIPArts kind of day!!

Friday, July 15, 2011

Well, I've been busy working on layouts for our upcoming trip to the most Magical Place on Earth...and in that vein, I recently got to play with the July kit from The Treasure Box Club. It was chock full of Basic Grey papers....and boy, did I have fun with them.

As anyone who knows me can tell you, I dislike sitting and doing repetitive work....yet this month, I found myself cutting flowers from some of the paper, to add to other papers from this wonderful line. You can see the end results beow. I also used some of the Pearl Pens from Viva Decor for the centers of these wonderful little flowers. Of course I had to tone them down a little, so I took my homemade Perfect Pearls mist in Brick Red and Gold to spray them with.
I hope you like the result.

Coming up next, I have two classes this coming week....my first one is on Sunday, and will be a COPICS II class (this is a PRIVATE gathering).....then another COPIC II class on Tuesday for Pam's Pals, where 1/2 of the proceeds will be donated to Breast Cancer Research.

Shortly after, I'll be assisting Mr. Lex with his classes at Googly Eyes. We'll be working on jewelry. If you're interested, please check out the calendar to the right for our teaching schedule. Then just call the store and sign up. :)

In August, we will be refocusing on cards and layout classes. Keep an eye out on this blog for more details.

Until next time, I hope you have a RIPArts kind of day!!

Monday, June 27, 2011

WOW...

What a busy weekend....I taught another COPIC class over the weekend at The Crafty Scrapper. What a fun bunch of ladies. They took to coloring skin and hair quite easily, so I was very happy.

While I was out, I did some shopping....bought some October Afternoon, some Graphic 45, picked up a Sew Easy storage unit, some Bo Bunny, some Basic Grey, and got some stuff at Fry's Electronics too....can we say XOOM!! ;) Yup, you guessed it, we are now tablet-enabled in our household. YAY!!

What does that mean, well, it means that we'll be taking pictures of our upcoming vacation, while literally on the road, and uploading, to keep everyone in the loop on our little Disney vacation.

In the meantime, we'll be busy learning the Android OS, and figuring out what is and isn't available in the Google Store, in terms of Apps....yes, I'm looking for scrapbooking apps, as well as Disney apps. So if you know of any, shoot me an email. :)

Until next time, I hope you have a RIPArts kind of day!!

Oh boy...it's almost time...

Yes, I know what you're thinking....Disney....and you're partially right.....

I'm am thinking of Disney...in terms of layouts....Disney layouts of course.....so that am I getting at already? Well, I'm working on some Disney layout and Disney inspired layouts for some upcoming classes. I'll be using some of your favorites, as well as some characters that aren't necessarily the first to come to mind when you think of Disney. These layouts will be useable by those who visit WDW or DL.

So, if I'm a little quiet here for the next few weeks, you'll know why.....I'm busy creating... ;)

But do check back soon for some sneak peeks....

Until then, I hope you have a RIPArts kind of day!!

I don't want to grow up...

Yup, that's how I feel each and every time I make a trip to Walt Disney World. I have soooo much fun while I'm there, and it's really the only place that I can just "let go", and have fun like I used to have when I was a kid. Nothing embarrasses me while I'm there on vacation.

And yes, it's almost time for our pilgrimage to the "World". This time, we're taking along a friend. We're excited for her, and we hope she's looking forward to it as much as we are. We've planning on being there in time for Mickey's Not So Scary Halloween Party, AND the International Food & Wine Festival. We hope to be able to fit in a day at Universal, so we can check out the Harry Potter Adventure. Time will tell is that is going to "pan out".

Speaking of Pan....I worked on this layout for a Disney swap online, and I had fun putting the "eternal boy" together after cutting him out. What do you think? Decent job?

I hope that as you begin to enjoy your Summer, whether alone, with a loved one, or with kids or grandkids, that you take time to let your "inner child" come out and play. I'm sure you'll discover that s/he will be thrilled to be out and having fun!!

Until next time, I hope you have a RIPArts kind of day!!

June TBC Kit

So, I did my first layouts using the new Treasure Box Club JUNE KIT. Love the colors and patterns in this one....I created a double pager to start...this will be for our upcoming trip in a few months.

I still maintain that if you haven't checked out the Treasure Box Club kits, then you're doing yourself a disservice. The kits are well put together, the colors are wonderful, and the kits are full of embellishments. You can also purchase "add ons" if you'd like, each month. The value for wonderful, and I really don't think you'll be disappointed.

Until next time, I hope you have a RIPArts kind of day!!

Time for updates...

Ok, so I've been remiss since just before Retreat....and that weekend wiped me out...so I've been attempting to recover, and to hit the ground again...as I have more classes scheduled.

First up, I have a private class this evening at The Crafty Neighbor. The class involves learning how to use COPIC markers. So it's a basic class, but I'm excited, because new folks will be learning how to color, like in their younger days....here's a sample of one of the cards we will be coloring tonight.
Next up, I have a COPIC II class at The Crafty Scrapper in Waxahachie, where I'll be using the Loralie Designs stamps to teach Hair & Skin tones. This has been a great bunch of ladies that I've been teaching, so I'm looking forward to seeing them again. See a sample below...

I'm also working on the June kit from The Treasure Box Club. What a FUN Travel kit. LOVE the papers in this kit, and can't wait to unveil my layouts. I highly recommend checking out the TBC website for ordering details.

I'm also finishing up a Disney swap that I'm involved in (ongoing), and developing more classes for Personal Scrapbook. I'm soooo excited, and super busy as you can tell.

While I'm working on all of this, we're also knee deep in preparations for our Halloween trip to Walt Disney World. YAY!! Can't wait to get back with all the pics so I can work up more projects.

On a final note, I'm happy to report that Ted, the owner of Stampers Anonymous saw my Honeycomb Paper card (paper by Inky Antics), was "inspired" by my use of the Tim Holtz Dress Form card that I made, and made one of his own....if you'd like to see his interpretation, you can check it out on their blog at: http://inkyanticsrubberstamps.blogspot.com/ Just scroll down to his entry.

Whew...lots to update....so, until next time, I hope you have a RIPArts kind of day!!

Tiptoe through the triptychs with me...

So, I've been asked about posting a picture of the project that I'll be teaching at Remember When after the annual retreat.....so, without further ado, here's ONE of the finished projects.

I hope you're able to make it. It should be loads of fun...we'll be using lots of products, and trying different techniques.

Until next time, I hope you have a RIPArts kind of day!!

Soooo....

Blogger lost my post from the other day...go figure....ugh....

Anyway, I had posted about how excited I was to have been put on the Inky Antics blog for my Honey Pop card that I taught in Waxahachie. It was the dress form card made using the Tim Holtz die, and of course the honeycomb paper.

Here's what the finished card looked like...

I hope you like the card, and give the Honey Pop honeycomb paper a try. It was SUPER fun...just check out the Inky Antics site, or your LSS for where to purchase it.

Until next time, I hope you have a RIPArts kind of day!!

Thursday, May 12, 2011

Oh WOW...

I actually made the grade...and had my project posted on the Inky Antics blog. It was my Honey Pop card, where I used the Tim Holtz dress form die. :)

Here's the finished card that I taught in class...

It's the little things that make me smile.

So, until next time, I hope you have a RIPArts kind of day!!

Excited...

Well, I'm excited about the triptych class that I've been working up the last few days. Mr. Bear was able to cut my triptychs, and I've been working fast and furious on it.

I have the base completed, now I need to embellish it, etc, and complete it, so that I can get the sample to the store.

This will be a class that I'm teaching at Remember When in Whitesboro, following the annual retreat there, in June. And since I've been asked, no, you don't have to attend the retreat to be able to take my class. It's open to everyone. We just ask that you sign up ASAP, as Mr. Bear has to cut these in advance. Once we're out of product, we're out.

Here's the base that I've worked on this week.

We will be using the wooden triptych, Tim Holtz stains, inks, some paint, dies, and all manner of embellishments. For more information, or to sign up for this one, you can call the store. The date is June 5th, at 10 am (if I recall correctly)...lol...

Until next time, I hope you have a RIPArts kind of day!!

New Class

So, I've been working up more class samples, and thought I should post this one....it's for an upcoming class at The Crafty Scrapper. It's called "Honey Sweet Cards", and we will be using this wonderful paper. We'll be learning about how to work with it using different techniques. Check my class schedule to the right for details.

Until next time, I hope you have a RIPArts kind of day!!

Soldered Jewelry 101

So, as I mentioned, Lex will be teaching a beginner's soldered jewelry class at Googly Eyes in Irving, TX. That being said, here is a SAMPLE of what you can create during class. The kits are such, that you will be able to choose your own images from those provided, allowing you to create a very personalized bracelet. In class, you will also be able to create 6 "filler" charms using beads to fill the gaps between the main charms.

Until next time, I hope you have a RIPArts kind of day!!

Great day!!

Had a great day yesterday at The Crafty Scrapper in Waxahachie. Taught a COPIC class, and really enjoyed the group I had. After the class, we discussed some up coming classes, and potential classes for the future. Once we finished there, we went to Googly Eyes, and Lex had a very productive meeting with the owners. Looks like Lex will be teaching at the store. He will be conducting classes in Soldered Jewelry, and in Metal Clay Jewelry. If you check the sidebar, you'll see the class dates/times. We hope to see you in class, as Lex continues his teaching endeavors. In the meantime, I'll be back in Waxahachie on the 30th of April for a COPIC III class (air brush), and a class on the honeycomb paper. If you're in the area, come on by for my classes. We're definitely going to be having some fun. After my class, you can always head over to Scarborough Faire (approximately 2 miles from the store)....and make it a fun filled day!! Until next time, we hope you have a RIPArts kind of day!!

Oh so Soft...

Flower Soft that is.....I've been playing with this stuff for about a month now, and I can honestly say that it's alot of fun seeing what you create with it. For those of you who aren't aware, Flower Soft is basically shredded foam, that comes in different colors, and allows you to embellish stamped images, as well as die cuts, layouts, etc. There are quite a number of colors, and they are adding to them all the time. The company itself is based in the UK, but the product is readily available here in the U.S.

I'll be teaching an intro class at Personal Scrapbook this weekend, and we will be creating 3 different cards using the product. Here is a sample of one of the cards.

If you're interested in learning more about this product, please join us in class. Until I chat with you next time, I hope you have a RIPArts kind of day!!

Inquiring Minds...

Inquiring minds apparently want to know what I'm currently working on....so I'll fess up....and these are not in the correct order, just typed off the top of my head...

1) Disney pages for our upcoming trip
2) Disney recipe swap
3) Treasure Box Club pages with March kit
4) Class samples for Personal Scrapbook
5) Class samples for The Crafty Scrapper
6) Class samples for Remember When's Retreat
7) Class samples for Googly Eyes

Whew....does that sum it up, or what? :)

Anyway, here's a sneak peek at part of one of my samples...

Until next time, I hope you have a RIPArts kind of day!!

Oh Boy!!

Yes, I have 3 more classes that just booked. I see that my April is beginning to fill up fast....

I'm excited!! Why? Because I really love to teach. That's why!

So, what did I pick up in April? Check out my calendar over to the right....

Also, did you know that Tracy has her new Treasure Box Club kit ready to ship? It's sooooo much fun....Fun & Games, that is.... :) If you haven't done so yet, go by her website and check it out. If you really want a great value in a kit, you really need to sign up for her kit club.

Here are a couple of layouts that I did with the February 2011 kit. I hope you enjoy!!

Until next time, I hope you have a RIPArts kind of day!!

What in the World...

What in the world happened to February? It came and went without so much as a wave goodbye. Wow!

Anyway, I sit here today, working out some samples in my head for my upcoming classes.

My next class is at Personal Scrapbook in Allen. It's a Flower Soft class.

After that, I've got a couple of classes at The Crafty Scrapper in Waxahachie. I have a COPIC class, as well as a card class using new stuff from Inky Antics. Fun stuff, trust me.

After that, I will be finishing up my samples for the classes at Remember When's Retreat, during the first week of June. Can't wait to see everyone again.

We're also working up some more Soldering classes and some PMC classes as well. This should take us through the Summer.

Of course once we enter Fall, we'll be on our way to WDW in Florida! We'll be attending Mickey's Not So Scary Halloween Party with our baby bear. Our friend Melinda will also be joining us. We're really looking forward to vacation.

All in all, I hope the months slow down a little bit...time if flying by all to swiftly.

Oh, as I sign off for now, I'll leave you with an image of some of the goodies I got this weekend.

I got a Magnolia Doo-Hickey; some MFT dies, and the Tim Holtz Mini Rosettes. Time for some crafty goodness.

Until next time, have a RIPArts kind of day!!

Monday, February 7, 2011

Yup, it's that time...

I'm getting my kits ready for teaching this weekend at: Remember When. We have a total of 3 classes lined up for the day!! If you read my last few posts, you'll see the project examples.

First up is my Vintage Valentine layout class using the Teresa Collins stampmaker.

Then we follow that up with: Cards in 3-D, where we create 3-D cards using vintage images.

Finally, we finish the day with Charmed I'm Sure, where we create a total of 11 charms for vintage sweetheart charm bracelet.

We certainly hope to see you there!!

Until next time, I hope you have a RIPArts kind of day!!

Updated Project Pic

Here's an updated pic of ONE of 3 cards that will be completed during class....we will also be making use of Tim Holtz, My Favorite Things, Whiff of Joy, Hero Arts, and more...can't wait...now to go color this image....oh, and for those of you who are curious, yes, this is an Easel Card...6x6 in size...

Until next time, I hope you have a RIPArts kind of day!!

Another class project pic

So, I was asked to go ahead and reveal the project pic for the Vintage Valentine's class. I've agreed to post the LEFT side of the layout, but will continue to keep the right hand side page a secret, as it has the image that we'll be creating in class, and I'd like that to be a surprise.

As you can see from the image, we will be using: Tim Holtz, My Favorite Things, Martha Stewart, Core'Dinations, Spellbinders, Quickutz, and of course Teresa Collins. It's going to be a fun class...and I hope everyone enjoys it!!

Until next time, I hope you have a RIPArts kind of day!!

Treasure Box Club

The TBC is sponsoring a Sketch Inspirations challenge....so I created a layout using the new sketch, and it's presented here for your viewing pleasure. :)

The picture was while we were on a Pirate Cruise from St. Lucia to Pigeon Island. The ship we were on was one of the ones used in the Pirates of the Caribbean movies. We had such a great time exploring the island, and riding on the ship. And believe it or not, I didn't get sea sick!! Yay me!!

If you haven't done so yet, I'd recommend you hop on over to The Treasure Box Club and snag a kit for January. I absolutely loved playing with this one.

Until next time, I hope you have a RIPArts kind of day!!

Playing with the IPhone

Just playing with an IPhone app that has fun with pics.... :)

Hope you're having a RIPArts kind of day!!

Just around the corner...

I'm just around the corner from my next round of classes at Remember When in Whitesboro. I'll be teaching 2 classes, and involved in a 3rd class (a collaborative effort).

Here are some pics from my upcoming class projects.

Vintage Valentines - You've seen this pic a few times, since I've used it to illustrate the rolled flower and rolled rose dies...

Next up, I'll be teaching a 3-D Vintage Valentine class....here's a sample of the projects for that class...

Afterwards, I'll be wrapping up with a "Charmed, I'm sure" class....a vintage Valentine's charm bracelet. Here are 4 of the 11 charms we'll be making in class...

I hope each of you is enjoying the start to this great new year. Until next time, I hope you have a RIPArts kind of day!!

YAY....I'm sooo excited....

Just got an email from the Crafty Scrapper in Waxahachie, that some dies that I had requested have arrived. I'm so excited to be able to play with them....One of them will be used in my Intro to COPICS class on Saturday, January 29th, and the other will be used in my Intermediate COPICS class next month...

In my Basics class, we will be working with October Afternoon....for my Intermediate class, we will be working with Hero Arts stamps. I can't wait!!

Here's a sample of what to expect in my Back to Basics class this weekend...this card is incomplete, as I'm still waiting on my dies....which I'll have in hand tonite, after work... :)

Until next time, I hope you have a RIPArts kind of day!!

WOW...

Made it through the weekend....had a wonderful day at Personal Scrapbook, teaching my 3 COPICS classes back to back. It was a long day, but had so much fun with my students. I can't wait to see some of their work.

We also got to play with the rolled flower and rolled rose dies, as well as the banner die, all from My Favorite Things. I also purchased the new scalloped banner die while I was there.

Not sure what a rolled flower looks like? Here are some on this portion of a layout for an upcoming class...

I'll be teaching a new class at Personal Scrapbook in late March. Keep an eye on my calendar for updates.

Until next time, I hope you have a RIPArts kind of day!!

Thursday, January 13, 2011

Yup, it's a great start to a New Year...

I don't know about the rest of you, but I've been busy creating samples for classes, and ordering new stuff to use from all over....so, let me share a few of my favorite things with you...

I recently received my copies of the new Disney cartridges for the Cricut/Expression. Here are the stock photos of the carts....I haven't gotten to play with them YET, but I will be doing so VERY soon...I'm teaching an intro class to the Cricut at Remember When in March. Check my calendar for more deets...

And before you ask, YES, I do have another Disney trip in the works for later this year, so these carts are perfectly timed in their release... :)

What else have I gotten recently? Well, there's a wonderful company whose stamps I've been playing with recently, and I just got some of their dies as well. Who are they? They're called My Favorite Things, and they do have some of my new favorite things in stock....here's just one of the items that I'll be using in classes very soon. These dies can be found at Personal Scrapbook in Allen.
I'll also be using some Greeting Farm stamps, and some MFT Stamps as well for my COPIC series of classes. Check them out on my schedule to the right. These classes will be taught at Personal Scrapbook in Allen. These fantastic stamps are available at the store.

And of course, I'm teaching a class on the new Teresa Collins Stampmaker, and I'm soooo looking forward to making some of my own designs....I'll be teaching this class at Remember When in Whitesboro. The maker and supplies can be purchased through Remember When. Of course I'm also loving the new October Afternoon stamps and coordinating papers...and will be using some in my upcoming COPIC class...this will be taught at The Crafty Scrapper in Waxahachie. The stamps, and complete paper line can be purchased at The Crafty Scrapper.

In February, I believe that I'll be teaching another COPIC class in Waxahachie using the Hero Arts stamps that I recently got. Here's a sample of their stamps.

So, you can see how well my year has started out...how's yours coming along? Getting the projects completed that you want? Getting the goodies you need? I sure hope so.

Until next time, I hope you all have a RIPArts kind of day!!
